I've been testing out a handful of drink mixes for some upcoming trail running races I've signed up for. There are a lot of great offerings in the 60g CHO/hr range, but what I love about Hummingbird Fuels is how light the taste is. The texture is great! It goes down easy. I suspect it this will help a lot in warmer conditions.

It tastes really good, keep my energy level up and with zero gut issues riding for hours.

I'm a big guy, so I need to push out big watts (and burn big calories) on every bike ride. I've tried many other drink mixes over the years (Perpetuem, Sustained Energy, and Skratch Ultra High Carb). Hummingbird is my favorite so far!

I gave Hummingbird a serious test this past weekend on a lumpy (and brutally windy) 300K. According to my power meter I burned ~9,000 calories in 13 hours on the bike, an average of ~700 calories per hour. I got ~2,000 of those calories from Hummingbird. Realistically no drink mix is going to give me 700 calories per hour for 13 hours, but having 2,000 calories (effectively a complete meal) spread over the day is super helpful.

For the ride I pre-measured 1/4 cup of Hummingbird in individual ziplock bags. During the ride I alternated between the orange and berry flavors (I don't know if this was strictly necessary but this strategy has served me well with other fuels and electrolyte supplements). The flavor was pleasant, even at the end of the ride.

I'm looking forward to using Hummingbird on this year's 400K and 600K rides.

Great running/biking fuel! Perfect mixture of carbs/electrolytes to fuel endurance activities, and the flavor is top notch. My wife has been using it while training for her first marathon and loves it!
