Clean refreshing taste!

I take 1 bottle of 60g carbs on every mountain bike ride. I start my ride drinking out of the bottle and then switch to my hydration pack when the bottle is done. I know I've gotten my first hour of 60g of carbs from the start of the ride. I am picky about drink mixes while riding... I don't like overly sweet flavors or gummy textures. I don't normally like citrus flavors but Girona Orange tastes clean, light and refreshing! I wish I had room on my bike for two bottles! I love supporting a small local business and Lisa & Richard are so helpful and responsive if you have any questions or feedback. Give HBF a try... you'll be converted!

It’s Just Sugar

I tried the product for the first time today. I liked the flavor—-it wasn’t TOO sweet. However, you recommend a bottle every hour. How can that much sugar (60g/serving) be good for you?

Thanks for your response. Indeed, our formula is a sugar based product. We purposely keep the ingredients simple, because fueling doesn't need to be complicated. Our ingredients are sugar, citric acid for flavor, sodium citrate and salt for electrolytes, and natural flavor for taste. That's it. This allows us to offer a product that's all natural, no dyes or artifical flavors. And most importantly, great value.

We recommend 60 grams of carbs per hour as the optimum fueling strategy since athletes burn on average (at 100 watts per hour) 384 calories an hour. Once serving of Hummingbird Fuels delivers 240 calories (60 grams of carbs). This why we recommend one serving per hour of exercise as that's still barely replenshing the energy you're using during an activity. We want to ensure that people are well fueled for their sport, because friends don't let friends bonk.

Berry delicious!

I’ve found that similar products tend to taste like cough syrup. Artificial. Even synthetic. But not this product. HBF’s Artic Berry tastes natural and is quite delicious- great job!
